Job Opportunity – Producer (3-month internship)

This is an exciting opportunity to help grow the activities of a film and multimedia studio, working on creative projects in the development and humanitarian sectors. As well as helping to drive new business, you will be a key member of the team in supporting the smooth running of projects – planning logistics, accompanying shoots, assisting with editing and everything else in-between.

The position is structured to nurture your talent and passion over the course of 3 months and will involve overseas travel.

Reelmedia is a creative documentary film and multimedia studio, specialising in communicating the stories of development and humanitarian organisations, as well as other values-based clients. We are passionate about the documentary format to enhance understandings about our world and the people that live here.

Working with a broad spectrum of organisations across the globe, we have successfully communicated the stories of development and humanitarian initiatives across a broad range of contexts and programs. We also increasingly look to long-form creative documentary and new multimedia to tell stories of social and cultural importance.

Role Description

  • Manage and update the website to promote activities and services,
  • Develop and maintain Social Media profiles for the business,
  • Build followers and increase engagement across all social media platforms,
  • Upload new releases and promote across social media,
  • Regularly search for business opportunities and write proposals,
  • Pre-production administration, including writing production schedules and scripts,
  • Ensure the smooth-running of shoots on location,
  • Take photographs on shoots for behind the scenes stills,
  • Assist with editing and other post-production tasks.

Key Requirements 

  • An excellent level of written English and attention to detail,
  • Able to multi-task and manage a workload independently,
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills,
  • Creative thinker and problem-solver
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to working in a rapidly growing and changing business,
  • Passionate about film and multimedia for positive change,
  • Interest and knowledge in development / humanitarian sectors,
  • Knowledge and experience of using Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro and Indesign,
  • Photography and shooting skills advantageous.

Other information

  • Daily expenses provided.
  • Flexible working – up to 3 days office-based.
  • Role will include overseas travel (most likely in November) – all expenses such as transport, food and accommodation will be provided for.
  • On completion of the internship, there will be the possibility to progress.
