Young people in Burkina Faso won't give up hope for a positive future.

This collection of photographs compliment a film project that Reelmedia was commissioned to make by UNICEF Burkina Faso in 2017.

Burkina Faso has a very young population with 56% of the population being 18 years old or younger. Making up the largest percentage of society, they lack access to basic services such as healthcare, education, nutrition and employment. Additionally, problems such as early marriage, child labour and limited access to sexual and reproductive health education are prevalent throughout the country. This often means that children do not attend school and are prevented from pursuing their aspirations in life.

Reelmedia worked in collaboration with UNICEF to create a series of short films that highlight both the plight of the young generation in Burkina Faso, as well as those who are working towards making lasting positive change in the country.
