In Togo, thousands of children are struggling to survive on the streets.

It is estimated that around 6,000 children live in the streets of Togo, nearly half of them in the capital Lome. There are multiple factors that make children homeless: family conflict, domestic violence, death or divorce of a parent and poverty. Once children find themselves on the street it is extremely hard to break the cycle without outside help.

To tackle the problem, UNICEF supports a reintegration programme, in partnership with the locally run MAREM centre, which aims to reunite children with their families and get them back into education.

This film follows Magloire, 17,  one the children that UNICEF’s programme has helped to leave the street and reconnect with his family.
